matter-potentiality...form-actuality...the compound of matter & form

3 stages, firstly, a virtuality with the potential to become reality ( actuality )...secondly, an existent reality in which exists virtuality as yet uncovered (in a state of emergence), lastly, a state of reality where all virtuality has become real ....all potentiality has been transformed to a state of actuality and merged with the state of actuality which was present prior to the transformation.

there may be no logical link between the effect of the representaional image and its content....the intensity of the effect is derivative of "autonomic reactions".....intensity is equivalent to an emotional state...suspended state...

"affect as a suspension of action-reaction circuits and linear temporality

...lost of the 'present'...."lost with the missing half second"......virtuality occurs when something happens at too fast a rate to have actually happened.

According to Aristotle's concept of potentiality, where, "nothing can happen if it doesn't have the potential to happen in the first place", and the 'new' is not something from the future, rather it is a 'past potentiality', perhaps then, it is possible that virtual reality is a simulacrum of reality......but, one of the strengths of virtuality is its capability for possiblities which otherwise would be impossible in reality....therefore, although it is an ' alternative' it has the capacity to be more than it's pre-cursor...and vice versa, come to think of it, both are types of realities in their own right, just different.....

VIRTUAL...Existing or resulting in essence or effect though not in actual fact, form, or name.....Existing in the mind, especially as a product of the imagination.....Created, simulated, or carried on by means of a computer or computer network

Heat and cold have a virtual transition, without communication of substance. --Bacon.
Every kind that lives, Fomented by his virtual power, and warmed. --Milton.
A thing has a virtual existence when it has all the conditions necessary to its actual existence. --Fleming.
To mask by slight differences in the manners a virtual identity in the substance. --De Quincey.
Being in essence or effect, not in fact; as, the virtual presence of a man in his agent or substitute.

REALITY..The quality or state of being actual or true.....One, such as a person, an entity, or an event, that is actual: “the weight of history and political realities” (Benno C. Schmidt, Jr.).....The totality of all things possessing actuality, existence, or essence.....That which exists objectively and in fact

the exactitude of the angle and preciseness of movement may perhaps create an affect...not movement in its entirety nor the whole distance of the ange but a juncture where a relationship between the viewer and the object is formed...

the diagram employed as the middle man between the "world-as-imagined"...the image, & the "world-as-experienced"...reality....the diagram as "sensation"..."the new is not something which comes from the future, rather it is a 'past potentiality'.."..."Material Diagramming" as a method to integrate movement into the materiality of structure...where before movement occurs only in the in-between spaces of material structure, diagramming techniques now enables the mapping and translation of movement into qualitative factors which can then be translated into actual physical elements..."Diagramming" Lars Spuybroek

shift from mechanical paradigm to the electronic paradigm...which defines reality via media & simulation..."appearance over existence"...what can be seen over what actually is...media "introduces ambiguities into what & how we see"...infinite possibilities lie in the "what & how"...what, which previously cannot, now can..."Visions Unfolding: Architecture in the Age of Electronic Media" Peter Eisenman....does this then pose a risk in the future whereby it is difficult to distinguish between what is reality and what is not, what are we, then, supposed to believe?
